Reiki Training, Reiki taught in all simplicity

What is Reiki?

Reiki is the universal energy of life at the very source of all life in the universe. Only the name changes according to the cultures and traditions: the Chinese call it Chi, the Christians Light or Holy Spirit, the Hindus speak of Prana, the Egyptians of Ka and the Sioux of Wakonda.

Reiki: a brief history

Reiki was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui (1865-1926) after a long personal quest a century ago. It is composed of the words “Rei” representing the essence of the source existing in all things and “Ki” meaning vital energy. Chujiro Hayashi (1880-1940) helped to bring Reiki to Japan and Hawayo Takata (1900-1980) then spread it widely throughout the world.

Reiki is an art of living, an initiation to happiness. It is a path that leads us along paths often unsuspected. Reiki is simple and accessible to all. It imposes nothing but total freedom. Reiki is beyond cultures, dogmas, beliefs and religions, fully compatible with every human being on this earth.

Transmission and effects of Reiki

The transmission is done locally or in the form of a complete Reiki treatment by placing the hands on the recipient’s body. The donor operates as an energy channel and does not perform any physical manipulation.

The effects during a treatment can be perceived as deep relaxation, heat sensations, sometimes very intense or tingling.

Reiki does not directly eradicate physical symptoms, but frees the original causes of blockages, pain or disease. Reiki does not, of course, replace medical treatment, but does strengthen it. It is however complementary to any other form of therapy and proves to be a wonderful way to free oneself from daily stress, body tensions, in order to find one’s full capacities.

Reiki is not exclusive to human beings and can be dispensed to any form of life, whether animal, vegetable or mineral, as well as to food, drinks and medicines that we ingest.
